Feelin' Like A Pimp? (Brush my shoulder off)

                           "Pimp My Blog"

I wanted a style that emulated Facebook. The design is meant to be simple, with the posts on the far right and two columns for widgets.

Before I chose my widgets, I searched through other blogs to find ones I wanted. I knew because of the nature of my blog, the news element, that I wanted a news ticker of some sort.

Of the two I found, one from AP, and one from CNN, I couldn't decide which was better, so I kept both. Not to mention a "share it" widget that allows readers to share blog posts on their social media site.

I also had a translator widget, however, it didn't seem to work so I scratched that. There is a ticker that counts page views and, of course, the fish to feed at the top of the page (laid out similar to a Facebook cover photo). I thought the fish worked well on my page because of the blog title.

I chose headline fonts that had a seraph, but body fonts that did not to make them more readable. The color of my links are bright so the reader knows they are clickable, but any link opened starts a new window so the online reader still remains on my page when they decide to open a link.

Blog style is not limited to design though. The way I write my posts, always including photos or links, is a way to add to the pimp factor. I try to give my blog posts interesting headlines to draw the reader in.
